Determining your festive email prospecting schedule is definitely going to help you make it more productive and efficient.
When is the official winding down period? When do people stop checking their emails? When is email backlog at its highest?
In this blog, we will highlight the key observations and recommendations for effective prospecting during the festive December period. Bear in mind, this is only really relevant to the western market where Christmas is celebrated on the 25th Dec and New Year on the 1st January, so it’s important to do you research when prospecting to culturally different countries!

1st week of December (w/c 4th) – Business as usual
This week remains standard for sending prospecting emails, with meetings still bookable in December, unaffected open and response rates. But it may be worth mentioning the festive holiday season and provide a meeting option for early January.
2nd week of December (w/c 11th) – Winding down
Open rates and response rates could increase during this week due to the festive season and decreased workload.
Full email prospecting can still go ahead but again, it’s worth mentioning the holiday season. We recommend continuing full prospecting activity, and suggest a meeting/call date in early January.
3rd week of December (w/c 18th) – Reduced attendance
Annual leave is on the rise, resulting in reduced open rates. However, response rates may increase for those still in the office. Consider pausing prospecting on Friday, the 22nd of December.
4th week of December (Christmas!) (w/c 25th) – very low attendance and public holidays
Prospecting emails sent during this week may likely get lost in the inbox, leading to very low open rates.
No prospecting activity is productive during this week, with some potential traction on the 28th-30th. It’s best to pause during this key out-of-office week!
1st week of January (w/c 1st) – slowly back in business!
People will gradually return to the office, likely towards the end of the week.
Recommendation: Restart prospecting Monday 8th.
Responses may be coming back steadily, and it’s important to allow time for backlog of emails, preparing for the busiest time of the year!
At Ezee Prospects, we will pause our campaigns on the 22nd December and resume on the 8th January ❄️
